Who He Is

I have been a leader for more than twenty years.

Not a speaker who talks about leadership. Not a consultant who advises from the outside. A working leader — managing budgets, having hard conversations, hiring the wrong person, developing the right one, sitting across from someone who is about to resign and trying to figure out what the right thing to say actually is.

I am currently the Executive Pastor of New Walk Church in Tampa, Florida. I oversee a staff of 30+, a $6M+ annual budget, and an organization that serves thousands of people every week. Before that I spent two decades leading teams through growth, transitions, and the kinds of hard decisions most leadership books skip over entirely.

Why He Wrote the Book

I wrote The Waypoint Leader because I kept seeing the same thing.

Leaders who genuinely cared about the people they led — but had never been given a framework for showing it. They had every metric covered. Every KPI tracked. Every performance review filed. They just didn't have a people column.

This book is for them. It's not theory. It's not a keynote. It's what I've learned from being in the room — from the hard conversations, the exits I handled well, and the ones I didn't.
